Wild Orchids on the Isle of Formentera
During the time of my publication, "The Orchids of the island of Formentera" December 2005, have been described for Formentera eight species of European orchids . I was lucky enough to find another 6 species.
On 26/04/2011 I got good news from Jordi Serapio, one of my friends from Ibiza. He had found on his Formentera trip Ophrys lutea, as well as Ophrys apifera. This sensational message I followed immediately, and found the two O.lutea, almost faded on La Mola. O. apifera I counted about 278 flowering plants, both in white, and pink. Jordi Serapio, an excellent photographer, has its own interesting website in which its sensitivity to the beauty of nature is visible.
On 13.10.2018 - after years of searching - I finally found Spiranthes spiralis.
